Hackathon on Innovations to Combat Adult Illiteracy: BITS Pilani, Bangalore

Post by iic.convenor »

Dear Students,

We are excited to announce an impactful opportunity to address a significant societal challenge. BITS Pilani, Bangalore Center is hosting a Hackathon on “Innovations to Combat Adult Illiteracy”, sponsored by Quizizz Inc.

Despite progress in education, India still faces a considerable challenge, with over 18.12 crore adults aged 15 and above remaining non-literate, including 9.08 crore men and 16.68 crore women. Illiteracy, the inability to read or write a simple message, disproportionately affects certain states such as Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, where rates are particularly high.

This hackathon invites innovative ideas and practical solutions to combat adult illiteracy, aiming to create a meaningful impact through technology, awareness, and accessibility.

Do check the attachment  for more details.  We look forward to your participation.

Best Regards,
IIC, BITS Pilani
