Proposals Invited: First-Degree Project Funding Scheme for Academic Year 2023-24

Dear Students:

Proposals for funding are invited from first-degree students to carry out their important projects during the academic year 2023-24. The selected projects will be given financial support by the Institute on the basis of the merit of the project, deliverable(s), and budget availability.

Objective:

The objective of the funding is to support first-degree students to carry out their important and innovative projects during an academic year.

Eligible Applicants:

First-degree students of BITS Pilani, Pilani campus (2nd Year onward) are eligible to submit the proposal. Projects exceeding 5 participants are not open for consideration under this category of funding.

Expenses:

Equipment costs, conference fees, materials for construction, and manufacturing services may be considered for funding.

Funding Amount:

The amount of Institute funding for a team cannot exceed Rs. 50000/- in an academic year. Over and above, funding may be considered on the basis of deliverable(s), the merit of the projects, and budget availability. However, the team(s) can explore possible sources of additional funding from other sources if required.

Faculty Supervisor:

 

• Students are advised to take guidance from faculty members who agree to be a mentor for the proposed project.
  
• A faculty can supervise or mentor a maximum of two projects.

Invoices of the financial year 2023-24 to be processed on/or before March 10, 2024, for reimbursement. Invoices after April 01, 2024, can be submitted till the closing day of the project (i.e. May 15, 2024).
 

Submission:

Interested first-degree students are required to submit the online application through the academic website: https://academic.bits-pilani.ac.in/ by logging in with your BITS email ID. During the application process, applicants need to upload the complete project file in PDF format. The file name should be the ID number of the project team leader.
